Project Manager – Space Imaging

• Location: Chelmsford, Essex (Hybrid - 4 days in office)
• Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 + benefits

We are seeking a Project Manager – Space Imaging with drive and commitment to enhance our project management team, manage strategic R&D and customer-funded projects, and work with the team to improve management and governance processes.

Responsibilities:

• Managing cross-functional teams of engineers and manufacturing staff to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Applying effective project management techniques consistently and demonstrating adherence to project management processes.
• Building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding of goals and objectives.
• Creating detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project and publishing them into the MS Project Server system.
• Agreeing on appropriate Phase Gate Reviews for projects and ensuring they are conducted in a timely manner.
• Identifying project risks, issues, and dependencies, and seeking resolution before escalation.
• Collaborating with the Finance Team to establish and monitor project budgets, including analyzing schedule-derived ETCs and risk-related cost exposures.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience managing projects through all or part of the lifecycle, from bid to production, with an emphasis on manufacturing.
• Proven ability to energize teams to meet critical deadlines and deliver projects successfully.
• Ability to manage customer expectations and prevent scope creep.
• Good understanding of risk management principles and their application in project management.
