Salary (doe)
Full Time, Permanent
Devizes, Wiltshire

We are recruiting a Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor to manage the financial and contractual success of my clients' residential projects. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and client-facing finesse. You'll oversee projects from initial concept to final handover, ensuring budgets are met, risks are minimised, and client expectations are exceeded.

This project scope entails leading financial oversight for bespoke installations within high-specification residential projects. Projects range in value from £500k to £5m+, demanding meticulous financial management, sensitive material sourcing, and collaboration with architects and designers.

Your Role:

  1. Act as the primary financial liaison for clients, contractors, and designers.
  2. Present cost reports, budget updates, and value-engineering proposals to clients.
  3. Manage client expectations regarding budget adjustments, variations, and timelines.
  4. Attend client meetings, site visits, and design reviews for real-time cost advice.
  5. Build long-term relationships with high-profile clients for repeat business and referrals.
  6. Deliver precise cost models for bespoke designs, accounting for rare materials.
  7. Source specialist stone materials and negotiate contracts with suppliers.
  8. Implement robust tracking systems to monitor spend against budget.
  9. Anticipate and mitigate risks such as material delays and design changes.
  10. Ensure smooth project close-outs, resolving final valuations and disputes.

Your Experience:
  1. 3 to 5 years experience in quantity surveying.
  2. Proficiency in cost estimation software.
  3. Knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts.
  4. Confident in presenting financial data to clients, designers, and senior stakeholders.
  5. Ability to simplify technical jargon for non-experts while maintaining professionalism.
  6. Proven track record in managing client expectations and resolving disputes diplomatically.

This role will be primarily on the road, visiting sites and projects across the country, so having a clean driving licence and access to a car is essential.

Successful candidates will be contacted within 7 working days of their applications. Should you not hear from us within this time, please assume that your application was unsuccessful.
