Project Manager – Police Staff – Strategy & Direction – Counter Terrorism Policing WM

Location: CTU, Birmingham, West Midlands, B4 6NQ, GB

Contract type: Part Time

Grade: 9

Information about the role

The role holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of allocated WM CTU business change and improvement projects, ensuring the achievement of the specified business benefits.

This includes designing, planning, coordinating, facilitating, monitoring, and reporting on change projects; developing capabilities to embed service improvement tools and techniques.

Responsibilities
  1. Define and agree on priorities for business requirements within West Midlands CTU, recommend suitable solutions, and prepare necessary specifications. Obtain approval from the Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) and/or Project Owner.
  2. Engage actively with the Project Owner, SRO, and stakeholders throughout the project, communicating effectively to ensure successful delivery and realization of benefits.
  3. Apply relevant project, change, and improvement standards to ensure projects are well-defined, governed, and managed consistently across the organization.
  4. Implement approved solutions in compliance with Force and CTP design principles, following established project and change management standards.
  5. Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and make adjustments within approved limits to ensure project completion.
  6. Oversee the work and priorities of the Project Team throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.
  7. Advise Project Boards, resolve issues, and suggest corrective actions to sustain and implement projects within governance frameworks.
  8. Prepare project, change, and improvement documentation, setting objectives, plans, costs, and performance measures to meet deadlines and budgets.
  9. If applicable, manage tender processes to secure value for money and relevant services/resources.
  10. Demonstrate awareness of equal opportunities and understanding of diverse behavioral, physical, social, and welfare needs.
  11. Ensure health, safety, and welfare of yourself and others, complying with relevant policies and procedures.
  12. Perform other team duties consistent with the job's scope and purpose, appropriate to the grade.
