Eligo Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Project Manager to lead the mechanical construction elements of large-scale data centre builds from inception to completion. The role is based in High Wycombe with UK-wide site visits.

You will manage on-site mechanical activities, lead a site team, and ensure strict adherence to safety and quality standards while coordinating with clients and design teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• On site mechanical construction activities from first fix through to handover.
• Lead a site team ensuring quality, environmental and safety standards.
• Manage the build programme and flag schedule slippage early.
• Oversee submission and approvals with client and design team.
• Chair and minuted subcontractor meetings and drive progress.
• Produce progress reports and key metrics for site meetings.
• Uphold health and safety policies and plans.

How many mechanical project managers actually get to say they built a data centre rather than a piece of one?

Our client is a data centre general contractor, delivering complete hyperscale and colocation facilities through a single point of contact rather than a patchwork of trade packages. They have handed over more than 400,000 square metres of data halls across eight countries, and they are building out the UK team to keep pace with demand.

The Project Manager takes the mechanical construction elements of large-scale data centre builds from inception through to completion, based in High Wycombe with travel to sites across the UK.

What you would be running:

• On site mechanical construction activities from first fix through to handover
• A site team working to quality, environmental and safety standards without compromise
• The build programme, keeping progress in line with plan and flagging slippage before it becomes a problem
• The submission and approval process agreed directly with the client and design team
• Subcontractor meetings, chaired and minuted by you
• Progress reporting, key metrics and the site meetings where those numbers get questioned
• Health and safety responsibilities under the company's policy and management plans
