Purpose
The Project Manager Major Component Exchangeposition is a key role within the Scottish Power Renewables O&M team focussing on the delivery and co-ordination of major component exchanges on windfarms across the UK & Ireland.
As Project Manager, you will take lead responsibility for the overall programme for all sites overseeing both planned and pro-active major component exchanges while seeking to maximise production and minimise turbine downtime.
You will be the central point of contract for field operations, civils, logistics and contract management, as well as being a central point of contact for senior management.
Responsibilities
Leading and managing multi-disciplinary project teams, you will deliver multi-disciplinary engineering projects, safely, on programme and within budget.
Recommending appropriate commercial strategies to the Senior Project Manager in a structured and robust manner, you will provide input to all commercial agreements and contracts to ensure project risks are mitigated.
Leading project risk management control, you will ensure all key decisions are supported by sufficient due diligence and investigation.
Managing the production of design and build specifications, you will also lead and manage tender assessments, liaise and coordinate with external suppliers and contractors to ensure delivery specifications are met whilst managing interfaces between main contractors where applicable.
Resolving contractor claims by providing structured information and recommendations to the commercial team and Senior Project Manager, you will review/monitor contractors’ progress against the programme, ensuring key project milestones are achieved.
Managing the process of regular meetings, communications and reports to the wider management team, which provide accurate, concise and timely information to support their understanding of strategic risks, issues, opportunities, impacts and progress, you will actively identify all critical risks, issues and impacts of the project, specifically the adequate application of, and adherence to, both statutory and Corporate Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
Utilising and effectively implementing standard ScottishPower Renewables project management tools on all projects, you will also be required to ensure all deliverables meet operational requirements whilst creating project recovery plans where project milestones are threatened, ensuring needed resources are in place and managed to achieve project timelines as per the plan.
What you’ll bring
Educated to degree qualification in relevant Engineering discipline, you will possess relevant Project Management capability and experience.IT literate with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other IT based project management software, you will possess knowledge and experience of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation associated with construction projects.
