Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the groundworks or civil engineering sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge of groundworks including drainage, foundations, concrete works, and external finishes.
  • Full UK driving licence required.

The Opportunity

We are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established civil engineering contractor who are delivering a high-profile commercial groundworks package in the heart of Leeds. Our client is known for their expertise in complex groundworks and infrastructure schemes, with a strong pipeline of secured work across the Yorkshire region. Due to the award of a major new project, they are now looking to appoint an experienced and commercially focused Project Manager to take full ownership of the scheme from initial mobilisation through to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the successful delivery of a large-scale commercial groundworks project from inception to completion
  • Coordinate site activities, managing engineers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client and attend regular progress meetings
  • Monitor site progress, produce accurate reports, and resolve any operational issues
  • Work closely with the commercial team to manage budgets, variations, and financial forecasting
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards at all times
About You
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the groundworks or civil engineering sector
  • Strong technical knowledge of groundworks including drainage, foundations, concrete works, and external finishes
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Relevant qualifications including SMSTS, CSCS (Black Card), and First Aid
  • Able to manage and motivate teams while maintaining strong client relationships
  • Full UK driving licence required
