Brief Description
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of delivering Network Rail's sustainability commitments. The Project Manager will deliver carbon reduction on our vehicle road fleet, by delivering electrification vehicle charging infrastructure and other technologies throughout Scotland, to meet the committed net zero agreed targets.
The Project Manager will work with multiple business customers and suppliers to deliver the Road fleet decarbonisation projects to agreed scope, cost and quality, whilst delivering efficiently and to meet the committed targets agreed within the control period business plan.
About the role (External)
Here are some of the duties your role will include: -
• Deliver a portfolio of projects.
• Provide a professional, first class, consistent and effective project management service to the clients, including project monitoring and reporting systems.
• Develop and implement relevant project management standards, processes and procedures.
• Develop and deliver a specific programme/projects on time, to budget and to other agreed success criteria, within corporate guidelines.
• Produce investment proposals and plans for projects, in accordance with Investment Regulations.
• Deliver within the assurance framework and agreed KPIs for project management activities.
• Deliver the effective development and management of suppliers and staff to meet all corporate rules and means of control (including standards), in particular those relating to safety, quality and environment, and disseminate lessons learned.
• Delivery the effective development and management of suppliers to meet programme requirements.
• Establish and manage collaborative cross functional teams to deliver change projects, where applicable.
• Identify and implement quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.
• Develop the capability and professional development of staff within the project management team.
• Liaise with internal and external customers to address customer needs by fully understanding them and taking them into consideration in any strategic or policy changes that may arise.
• Participate in the development of supply strategies and framework contracts.
• Control project change, risks and contingency within the project life cycle and provide all cost, contingency and programme details to enable the Sponsor to obtain authorisation for portfolios / programmes / projects.
• Provide a safe working environment in the execution of work directly under the post holder's responsibility, including development of project safety plans and other associated documentation.
• Discharge Network Rail's CDM related duties as required by company process.
• Identify training needs in safety, technical and management areas for the personnel reporting to the post holder and contribute to their personal development.
• Knowledge of electric vehicles and infrastructure/technologies.
