Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Project Manager to support a range of Clean Water projects across Yorkshire, with the office base near Sheffield. You will manage civil engineering and utility schemes, coordinating site teams and subcontractors across multiple sites.

The role requires experience in water/utilities projects, strong governance of health and safety, and the ability to travel across Yorkshire including Bradford and West Yorkshire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Clean Water projects from planning through to completion.

• Oversee transfers, relays and pipe testing.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, quality, H&S and compliance.
• Maintain accurate project records and progress updates.

Job description

Our client, a leading contractor in the water and utilities sector, is seeking a Project Manager to support a range of Clean Water projects across Yorkshire on an Outside IR35 contract basis. The role will involve managing civil engineering and utility schemes, with projects located across Bradford, West Yorkshire and surrounding areas. The ideal location is within reasonable travelling distance of Sheffield, which serves as the office base.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing the delivery of Clean Water projects from planning through to completion
• Overseeing replacement mains and rehabilitation schemes
• Co-ordinating service laying, slip lining and pipe bursting works
• Managing directional drilling activities and associated civil engineering works
• Overseeing transfers, relays and pipe testing
• Co-ordinating site teams, subcontractors and other project stakeholders
• Monitoring project progress, quality, health and safety and compliance
• Maintaining accurate project records and providing progress updates

Job Requirements:

• Experience managing civil engineering projects within the water or utilities sector
• Practical knowledge of Clean Water projects, including mains replacement and rehabilitation
• Understanding of service laying, slip lining, pipe bursting and directional drilling
• Experience with transfers, relays and pipe testing
• Strong project management, communication and stakeholder co-ordination skills
• Ability to manage contractors, site teams and project resources effectively
• Strong understanding of health and safety, quality and environmental requirements
• Experience in Gas, Utilities or Wastewater will also be considered
• Willingness to work across Yorkshire, including Bradford and West Yorkshire
