Job summary

Our client, a specialist civils contractor in Worksop, is seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to deliver a civils and groundworks scheme from mobilisation through to handover.

The role covers managing earthworks, drainage, ground preparation, and coordinating site teams, with a 3-6 month contract and day rate of £400-£450, dependent on experience. Candidates should hold SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid, have full UK driving licence, and a proven cradle-to-grave project delivery background.

Qualifications

• Extensive civils, earthworks and groundworks experience.
• Proven ability to manage projects from cradle to grave.
• Strong health-and-safety, commercial and client-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
• Oversee bulk earthworks, cut-and-fill, drainage and ground preparation.
• Coordinate groundworkers, subcontractors, site engineers, plant and materials.
• Manage site levels, formations, excavations and drainage installations.
• Develop and maintain the construction programme.
• Review drawings, specifications, RAMS and quality documentation.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to specification.
• Monitor progress, costs, variations, delays and operational risks.
• Lead site meetings and provide progress reports.
• Manage testing, snagging, as-built records and final handover.

• Previous experience as a Project Manager, Contracts Manager or senior Site Manager
• Strong health-and-safety, commercial and client-management skills
• Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
• Full UK driving licence

Experience in sports facilities, large external works, landscaping or specialist drainage would be advantageous.
