Job summary

United Living Group in Wakefield is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background to lead complex water and wastewater projects within AMP8 framework agreements. You will own end-to-end delivery, ensure safety, budget, schedule, and quality.

You will supervise Site Managers and Engineers, manage supply chains, attend client meetings, and drive HSQE compliance, change control, and risk management to meet targets.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Project Manager role within the water industry.
  • APM PMQ (or equivalent project management qualification) required.
  • SMSTS (CITB) certification preferred.
  • CSCS (Manager Level) required.
  • CDM Awareness essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of water and wastewater projects.
  • Plan and manage multiple projects up to £10 million in value.
  • Undertake Principal Contractor responsibilities per CDM 2015.
  • Lead HSQE procedures and regular safety site inspections.
  • Manage project programmes, budgets, and margins.
  • Provide line management to Site Managers, Engineers, and Site Foremen.
  • Coordinate supply chain partners and stakeholder communications.
  • Chair project meetings and document actions and decisions.
  • Manage change control and risk with clients.
  • Collaborate with designers to develop buildable solutions.
  • Mentor delivery teams and ensure method statements and risk assessments are in place.
  • Plan resources and materials to meet delivery schedules.

Due to sustained growth and increased workload—particularly within our AMP8 framework agreements, we are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background. This is an excellent opportunity to join our integrated project delivery team and lead complex, multi-disciplinary water and wastewater projects. You will be accountable for the successful end-to-end delivery of projects—ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a confident, proactive, and highly organised individual who brings a passion for delivering quality civil engineering projects.

You’ll be an experienced project leader with a strong track record in the water industry, particularly across complex infrastructure and non-infrastructure works.

You’ll have a problem-solving mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and the drive to exceed client expectations in everything you do.

Essential Skills And Qualifications
