Job summary

United Infrastructure in Wakefield is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex water and wastewater projects. You will ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards, acting as principal contractor where required.

The role calls for a proactive leader with extensive water industry experience, capable of driving multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating with clients and supply chains to meet demanding milestones.

Qualifications

  • Degree, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Project Manager role within the water industry.
  • APM PMQ (or equivalent project management qualification).
  • SMSTS (CITB)
  • CSCS (Manager Level)
  • CDM Awareness
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery of multiple ongoing projects (up to £10 million in value).
  • Undertake Principal Contractor responsibilities in accordance with CDM 2015 regulations.
  • Lead the implementation of HSQE procedures across all projects.
  • Manage overall project programmes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Provide line management to Site Managers, Engineers, and Site Foremen.
  • Coordinate and manage supply chain partners, resolving issues and driving performance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders; build strong relationships and provide updates.
  • Chair and lead project meetings, ensure documentation of actions and decisions.
  • Manage change control and client expectations through communication and risk management.
  • Collaborate with designers to develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
  • Mentor and support the professional development of project delivery teams.
