Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Project Manager for Substations delivery up to 66kV. The role is based in Andover/ Southampton area with office and site travel, typically 3-4 days on site/office.

You will manage multiple projects within a major client framework, ensuring safe, compliant delivery from setup through close-out, while controlling time and budget and coordinating with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven delivery on distribution-level substations up to 66kV.
• IOSH Managing Safely, required.
• SSSTS certification preferred.
• FIDIC contracts experience.
• Knowledge of client rules/standards and authorisations.
• Strong MS Office suite and project tools usage.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain site-specific H&S documentation.
• Ensure works are planned and delivered in line with CDM Regulations 2015.
• Manage labour, materials, plant and ensure competency/training in date.
• Own the programme and drive delivery to time and budget.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and senior stakeholders.
• Manage scope changes, variations and commercial impacts.
• Support tender/pricing documentation where required.
• Collate and report KPIs.
• Work with the SHEQ team on audits and investigations.

Project Manager - Substations (Distribution up to 66kV)

Location: Andover, Southampton, Hampshire (with office/site travel)

Working pattern: Office & site based, typically 3-4 days on site/office

Hours: 40 hours/week (no overtime)

Options: Permanent or Contract

Salary / Rate: £60,000-£75,000 + £5,000 car allowance or £500-£550/day

A principal contractor in the energy sector is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join its Substation delivery team. You'll manage multiple projects within a major client framework, leading safe, compliant delivery from set-up through to close-out.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain site-specific H&S documentation
• Ensure works are planned and delivered in line with CDM Regulations 2015

Essential Requirements

• Proven delivery experience on distribution-level substations (up to 66kV)
• IOSH Managing Safely
• SSSTS
• Experience working with FIDIC contracts
• Strong knowledge of client rules/standards and working to authorisations
• Solid MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) plus MS Project
• Able to manage project financials and run multiple projects concurrently

Desirable

• Higher-voltage substation experience (ideally up to 132kV)
