Job summary

Matchtech is recruiting an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join a leading power utilities client on DNO Asset Replacement programmes and Frameworks, with a major project across Oxfordshire.

You will manage substation projects from initiation to completion, coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, and ensure delivery to time, budget and quality standards while maintaining health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience with 11kV up to 33kV assets is desirable.
• HNC or above electrical qualification or trades like Ex Cable Jointer, HV Fitter, Electrician.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, asset replacement and connection projects.
• Ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage substation projects from initiation to completion.

• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders for seamless delivery.

• Maintain adherence to health, safety and environmental policies.
• Manage project resources for optimal allocation and utilisation.

Electrical Project Manager

Our client, a leading company in the power utilities sector, is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on DNO Asset Replacement programmes and Frameworks, with a significant project based across Oxfordshire.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing substation projects from initiation to completion
• Overseeing the SSE/UKPN Asset Replacement programmes and Framework and HV connections projects.
• Ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
• Co-ordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders for streamlined project delivery
• Mitigating risks and resolving issues that arise during the project lifecycle
• Providing regular project updates and reporting to senior management
• Maintaining adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies
• Managing project resources effectively, ensuring optimal allocation and utilisation

Job Requirements

• Experience up to 11kv (33kv desirable but not essential)
• Electrically trained (HNC or above or Ex Cable Jointer, HV Fitter, Electrician by trade)
• Strong understanding of power distribution, asset replacement and connection projects.
• Proven ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent project management and organisational skills
• Relevant project management qualifications or certifications are advantageous
• Full UK driving licence
