Job summary

Bennett And Game Recruitment is seeking a Project Manager for a leading power generation provider in the UK. The role is primarily based in an office in Northampton with occasional site visits, and offers a structured environment with mileage paid for site work.

You will manage generator installation projects, coordinate engineering, procurement, production and installation teams, and act as the main customer contact.

Qualifications

• PM experience in power generation or diesel generators.
• Knowledge of generator installations and standby power systems.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Experience managing budgets and timelines.
• CDM/H&S knowledge and full UK driving licence.

Role Overview

Our client is a leading provider of bespoke power generation and standby power solutions across the UK. Due to winning a major new contract, they are looking to recruit a Project Manager with experience in the power generation or diesel generator (genset) industry. This is a primarily office-based role in Northampton with occasional site visits, where business mileage is paid.

Responsibilities

• Manage generator installation projects from order through to completion.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, production and installation teams.
• Act as the main point of contact for customers.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specification.
• Monitor project costs and progress.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and commissioning engineers.
• Produce project documentation and reports.
• Support commissioning and final project handover.
• Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained.
• Occasional UK site visits when required.

Requirements

• Project Management experience within power generation or diesel generators.
• Good knowledge of generator installations and standby power systems.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Experience managing project budgets and timelines.
• Commercial awareness.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and CDM regulations.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience with Caterpillar, Cummins, Perkins, FG Wilson, MTU, Kohler or similar generators is advantageous.
• PRINCE2, APM or similar qualification desirable.

Salary & Benefits

• £40,000 - £45,000 DOE (higher for the right candidate)
