Job summary

CIH International Housing Group is recruiting a Project Manager for a major multi-year design and build framework with Northumbrian Water Group. The role is based from our Durham office in the North East, requiring a full valid driving licence.

Qualifications

  • HNC Qualification or above in engineering (preferably ICE member).
  • NEC-3/NEC4 ECC Project Managers Accreditation.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills with the ability to lead a team.
  • Good understanding of operational activities, trade skills, and financial awareness.
  • Demonstrated experience in a construction environment as a project manager.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review all delivery and financial performance; address abnormalities and inform finance teams.
  • Collaborate with design colleagues and framework partners to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Liaise with stakeholders including local authorities, land-owners, asset owners and customers to ensure project delivery.
  • Champion safety and drive compliance through collaborative audits.
  • Guide and support project programmes to align with affordability goals and budgets.
  • Inspire and mentor a diverse team to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.

About the role...

We have been awarded a major multi-million-pound design and build framework agreement with Northumbrian Water Group (NWG) as part of NWG's Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8) £3.6 billion investment programme. As we embark on this exciting 12-year design and build framework, we are looking for a Project Manager to join our Operations Team.

This is a full-time permanent role, based from our Durham office in the North East.

Please note: a full valid driving licence is a pre-requisite for this role.

What will your day look like...
  • Monitoring and reviewing all delivery and financial performance, and taking corrective actions to address abnormalities, including updating commercial and finance teams through management and ownership of cost recons
  • Collaborating with our design colleagues and framework technical partners to formulate high quality outcomes
  • Liaising with individual stakeholders involved with various projects including local authorities, private land-owners, third party asset owners and customers to ensure the successful delivery of projects
  • Championing safety and ensuring compliance through collaborative support audits
  • Guiding and supporting the delivery of a programme of projects, ensuring alignment with affordability goals
  • Inspiring and mentoring a diverse team of professionals to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget
About you...

You'll bring empathy, recognisable leadership, and interpersonal skills that help create a positive and collaborative team environment. You will hold a HNC Qualification or above (preferably in an engineering discipline) and will preferably be a member of the Institute of Civil Engineering. You will have NEC-3/NEC4 ECC Project Managers Accreditation. You're a natural communicator with strong coaching and communication skills, both written and verbal, and a passion for supporting others. You'll have a good understanding of operational activities and trade skill along with a financial awareness and ability to work to budgets. You will maintain a working knowledge of disciplinary and capability procedures and finally, demonstrate experience of a similar role in a construction environment.
