Job summary

Avove is seeking a Design Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary design teams delivering water and wastewater projects across the UK. You will ensure programmes meet budget, schedule and quality objectives while managing governance, resources and stakeholder relationships.

The role is based from either our Durham or Glasgow office, with other locations considered and a mix of office and home working. A full valid driving licence is a prerequisite.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Engineering or Project Management.
• Experience delivering water and wastewater projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Demonstrable experience managing multiple projects or programmes simultaneously.
• Experienced in working collaboratively with clients, external design partners and geographically dispersed teams.
• Expertise in project governance, technical assurance, risk management and programme delivery.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience operating within NEC contracts and AMP programmes.
• Experience mentoring colleagues and supporting business growth initiatives.
• Committed to fostering collaborative, high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement.

About the role…

We have been awarded a major multi-million-pound design and build framework agreement with Northumbrian Water Group (NWG) as part of NWG’s Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8) £3.6 billion investment programme. As we embark on this exciting 12-year design and build framework, we are looking for a Design Project Manager to join our Design Team.

This is a full-time permanent role, based from either our Durham or Glasgow office (other locations will be considered and can involve a mix of office and home working)

As a Design Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of complex multidisciplinary design programmes across our water and wastewater portfolio, ensuring engineering solutions are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme, budget and quality objectives. You will play a key leadership role in managing design performance, governance, resources and stakeholder relationships across a diverse range of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.

Please note: a full valid driving licence is a pre-requisite for this role.
