Job summary

Deanston Cooper is assisting a busy civil engineering contractor based in Glasgow in recruiting a Project Manager to lead substation projects across the Central Belt. The role sits within a long-term framework and requires strong site-based leadership from our Glasgow office.

The successful candidate will plan, organise and coordinate multi-discipline teams, ensuring on-time delivery, defect-free outputs and robust safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• HNC Civil Engineering qualification required.
• Experience as Site Agent or Project Manager in civil engineering.
• Experience on a variety of general civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Proactive problem-solving and good communication.
• Excellent man-management and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan the entire project delivery to meet contractual and industry standards.
• Organise resources to deliver the project on time and defect free.
• Coordinate resources across the project and delivery objectives.
• Monitor the QA system implementation for quality control and review the program with Site Agents.
• Take corrective actions to improve financial and commercial returns.
• Coordinate with commercial staff to maximise returns from resources, supply chain and contracts.
• Take action to enhance client relationships.
• Monitor safety on site and feed learnings back into the business.

Job description

Deanston Cooper client is an extremely busy and highly successful privately-owned civil engineering contractor based in Glasgow. As a result of being awarded a long term framework, they currently have a requirement for a Project Manager to join their team working on substation projects across the Central Belt.

Your duties as Project Manager will include:

• Planning the entire project delivery to meet contractual and industry standards
• Organising the resources so that suitable resources are available to deliver the project on time and defect free
• Coordinating resources across the project and delivery objectives
• Monitoring the implementation of the QA system for quality control and reviewing the program with the Site Agents
• Taking corrective actions to improve the financial and commercial returns
• Coordinating with the commercial staff to ensure the resources, supply chain and contractual opportunities can be utilised to maximise returns
• Taking action to enhance client relationships
• Monitoring safety on site and feedback learnings into the business.
