Job summary

First Task Professional is recruiting an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of a major civils package for a 132kV substation in the Glasgow area. You will lead civil engineering delivery, ensuring safety, programme, budget and quality are met.

You will manage earthworks, foundations, cable ducts, drainage and roads while coordinating with the electrical contractor and client teams to drive successful project outcomes. Relevant qualifications and SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid are desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering civil engineering projects as a Project Manager.
• Substation, power, transmission & distribution, energy or utilities project experience highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, programme management and commercial awareness.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid as a minimum.
• Civil Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of all civil engineering works for the 132kV substation.
• Ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to high quality.
• Coordinate with the electrical contractor and client teams.
• Manage earthworks, foundations, cables, drainage and roads.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and reporting.

We're working with a leading civils contractor who have secured a major 132kV substation project in the Glasgow area and is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to take full responsibility for the delivery of the civils package.

The Role

You'll lead the delivery of all civil engineering works associated with the construction of a new 132kV substation, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Typical works will include:

• Earthworks and site preparation
• Reinforced concrete foundations
• Cable ducts and trenches
• Drainage and roads
• Security fencing and hardstanding
• Coordination with the electrical contractor and client teams

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering civil engineering projects as a Project Manager.
• Previous experience on substation, power, transmission & distribution, energy or utilities projects is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, programme management and commercial awareness.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid as a minimum.
• Civil Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) preferred.
