Job summary

SER Limited is seeking a dynamic Project Manager/Engineer to own capital equipment projects from cradle to grave near Doncaster, in a hybrid/field-based role. You will manage the full lifecycle from initial customer engagement to final delivery and on-site installation, coordinating with internal design teams and external suppliers.

• Engineering background, preferably mechanical or process engineering.
• Experience managing capital equipment projects in food processing, beverage, liquids industry.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to interpret and contribute to engineering drawings (CAD 2D/3D beneficial).
• Experience with cost estimation, budgeting and proposal generation.
• Customer-facing, hands-on role.
• Valid UK driving licence (company vehicle provided).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end management of capital equipment projects.
• Liaise with customers remotely and on-site to capture requirements.
• Collaborate with design team on bespoke solutions; CAD input helpful.
• Estimate project costs and prepare detailed proposals.
• Coordinate subcontractors and third-party suppliers.
• Monitor timelines and budgets to ensure quality and service.
• Maintain documentation and reporting across the project lifecycle.

Location: Within 50 miles of Doncaster (Hybrid/Field-Based Role)

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + Company Vehicle, Laptop, Phone, 25 Days Holiday, Pension (2% Employee / 5% Employer)

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and hands‑on Project Manager / Engineer to take ownership of projects from cradle to grave. Based within a 50-mile radius of Doncaster, you will play a key role in managing the full project lifecycle, from initial customer engagement to final delivery and installation on‑site.

Key Responsibilities

• Full end‑to‑end project management of capital equipment projects
• Liaise directly with customers, both remotely and on‑site, to understand requirements and manage expectations
• Work closely with the internal design team on bespoke solutions; involvement in CAD design (2D/3D) is advantageous
• Estimate project costs and create detailed technical/commercial proposals
• Coordinate with and manage subcontractors and third‑party suppliers
• Monitor timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring high standards of quality and service
• Maintain clear documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

• Strong engineering background, ideally in mechanical or process engineering
• Proven experience managing capital equipment projects (In food processing , beverage, liquids/drinks industry)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to interpret and contribute to engineering drawings (CAD skills in 2D/3D beneficial)
• Experience with cost estimation, budgeting, and proposal generation
• Comfortable working in a customer‑facing, hands‑on role
• Valid UK driving licence (company vehicle provided)
