Job summary

SER-IN is seeking a hands-on Project Manager to own capital equipment projects from cradle to delivery. Based within a 50-mile radius of Doncaster, the role blends hybrid field work with client engagement across the full lifecycle, from initial inquiry to on-site installation.Projects range from £2,000 to £1 million, with larger initiatives spanning 3+ months. You will coordinate between customers, internal design teams, and external suppliers, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background, ideally mechanical or process engineering.
• Experience managing capital equipment projects in food processing, beverage, liquids/drinks sectors.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to interpret and contribute to engineering drawings (CAD 2D/3D).
• Experience with cost estimation, budgeting and proposals.

Responsibilities

• Full end-to-end project management of capital equipment projects.
• Liaise with customers remotely and on-site to understand requirements and manage expectations.
• Work with internal design teams; CAD input is advantageous.
• Estimate project costs and create detailed technical/commercial proposals.

Location: Within 50 miles of Doncaster (Hybrid/Field-Based Role)

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + Company Vehicle, Laptop, Phone, 25 Days Holiday, Pension (2% Employee / 5% Employer)

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Project Manager / Engineer to take ownership of projects from cradle to grave. Based within a 50-mile radius of Doncaster, you will play a key role in managing the full project lifecycle, from initial customer engagement to final delivery and installation on-site.

Projects typically range from £2,000 to £1 million, with larger projects requiring in-depth involvement over 3+ months. You will be the central point of contact for customers, internal design teams, and external suppliers/subcontractors, ensuring seamless coordination and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full end-to-end project management of capital equipment projects
• Liaise directly with customers, both remotely and on-site, to understand requirements and manage expectations
• Work closely with the internal design team on bespoke solutions; involvement in CAD design (2D/3D) is advantageous
• Estimate project costs and create detailed technical/commercial proposals
• Coordinate with and manage subcontractors and third-party suppliers
• Monitor timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring high standards of quality and service
• Maintain clear documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements:

• Strong engineering background, ideally in mechanical or process engineering
• Proven experience managing capital equipment projects (In food processing , beverage, liquids/drinks industry)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to interpret and contribute to engineering drawings (CAD skills in 2D/3D beneficial)
• Experience with cost estimation, budgeting, and proposal generation
• Comfortable working in a customer-facing, hands‑on role
• Valid UK driving licence (company vehicle provided)

Package Includes:

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 (dependent on experience)
