Job description

Join Tetra Tech's Residential Development team and help deliver complex, large-scale infrastructure projects that shape communities for generations to come. We're looking for a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager or Associate Project Manager with a strong civil engineering and construction background to lead high-profile residential development schemes from concept through to completion, working alongside industry-leading technical specialists and trusted clients.

Purpose & Scope of the Role

As part of our Residential Development team, you will lead the successful delivery of strategic land and residential infrastructure projects across RIBA Stages 1–6. Taking ownership of project planning, procurement, contract administration and project controls, you\'ll ensure schemes are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Working collaboratively with clients, consultants, contractors, utility providers and local authorities, you\'ll coordinate multidisciplinary teams while managing the technical and commercial aspects of complex infrastructure projects.

Your Impact in this Position

You'll be the trusted lead for clients throughout project delivery, providing leadership across complex infrastructure programmes and ensuring projects progress seamlessly from design into construction. By managing risk, driving collaboration and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, you\'ll play a key role in delivering successful developments that leave a lasting legacy.

Core Capabilities
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Build trusted relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and statutory authorities. Lead stakeholder engagement and negotiations to achieve successful project outcomes. Act as the primary point of contact throughout project delivery.
  • Project & Programme Leadership: Lead project planning, delivery programmes, risk management and change control. Monitor progress and performance to ensure successful delivery against scope, budget and timescales. Provide clear project reporting and leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Contract & Commercial Management: Administer NEC4 and JCT contracts throughout the project lifecycle. Support procurement, commercial negotiations, budgeting and forecasting. Manage financial performance and project cost control.
  • Infrastructure Delivery: Oversee highways, drainage, utilities and wider civil infrastructure works. Coordinate design teams, site activities and construction delivery. Support remediation investigations and construction supervision where required.
  • Quality, Information & Governance: Maintain robust project controls and quality management processes. Manage project information within a Common Data Environment (CDE). Ensure compliance with contractual, governance and client requirements.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience

You'll have a background in civil engineering with experience in project, contract or construction management and a proven track record of delivering infrastructure projects. Knowledge of NEC4 and JCT contracts is essential. Experience working with organisations such as the Environment Agency, National Highways, Natural England or local authorities is advantageous, while experience of bridges or pump station construction would be beneficial.

Working Environment

This role is based on a long-term client project in Ely, Cambridgeshire. You\'ll be expected to attend site 2–3 days per week, with flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week. Candidates should live within a reasonable commuting distance of Ely and hold a full UK driving licence with access to a suitable vehicle.
