Job description

Join Tetra Tech’s growing team delivering complex, long‑term development projects that create lasting impact. This is an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with a strong civil engineering and construction background to take ownership of high‑profile infrastructure schemes, working alongside industry‑leading specialists and key stakeholders.

Purpose & Scope of the Role

As a Project Manager within our Residential Development team, you will play a key role in delivering major strategic land and residential development projects from inception through to completion. You will lead the management and administration of infrastructure projects across RIBA Stages 1–6, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality expectations.

Working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, utility providers and local authorities, you will oversee project planning, procurement, contract administration and project controls while supporting a collaborative, high‑performing project environment.

Your Impact in this Position

You will act as the primary client contact on site, driving the successful delivery of a long‑term residential development portfolio. Your expertise will help coordinate complex infrastructure works, manage stakeholder relationships, control risk and change, and ensure projects progress efficiently from design through construction. Your leadership will be instrumental in aligning multidisciplinary teams and maintaining strong relationships across all project partners.

Core Capabilities
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Build trusted relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and adopting authorities. Lead negotiations and coordinate multiple stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes. Act as the key point of contact throughout project delivery.
  • Project & Programme Leadership: Define project scope, deliverables and success criteria. Manage programmes, risks, change control and project reporting. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
  • Contract & Commercial Management: Administer NEC4 and industry‑standard construction contracts. Support procurement activities and contract negotiations. Manage project costs, budgets, forecasting and billing.
  • Infrastructure Delivery: Oversee civil infrastructure works, including highways, drainage and utilities. Manage remediation investigations and construction supervision activities. Coordinate multidisciplinary design and construction teams.
  • Quality, Information & Governance: Implement quality management processes and project controls. Manage project information within a Common Data Environment (CDE). Ensure compliance with project governance, contractual and client requirements.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience

A civil engineering background is essential, alongside experience in project, contract or construction management. You will have practical knowledge of NEC4 and JCT contracts and a proven track record delivering infrastructure projects. Experience working with organisations such as the Environment Agency, National Highways, Natural England or local authorities would be advantageous. Bridges and pump station construction experience is desirable. Candidates must be eligible for Security Clearance and live within commuting distance of Aldershot, Hampshire.

Working Environment

This role is primarily based at a client site in Aldershot, Hampshire, with an expectation of five days per week on site during probation. Following successful completion of probation, there is the opportunity to work one day per week from home, providing a blend of on‑site collaboration and limited hybrid flexibility.

Equality and Diversity

In alignment with the Equality Act 2010, we will make reasonable adjustments to support candidates and employees requiring additional arrangements. This could include adaptations to work schedules, training approaches, or the physical workspace. Please inform us if you need any accommodations during the recruitment process or in your day‑to‑day role.
