Estimating Manager - Warwick, Warwickshire, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Reporting to the Director of Rail, the Estimating Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and competitive cost estimates for new projects within the designated business sector. You will collaborate closely with project management and engineering teams to ensure all aspects of the project are accurately considered and costed.

This role offers hybrid working, with occasional presence at our Warwick Head Office.

What You’ll Do:

• Support the production and submission of accurate, comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely manner.
• Manage the estimating process at bid, project, or scheme level.
• Challenge cost estimates produced by SMEs in Delivery and Engineering.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Minimize selling costs and response times through standard processes and pricing tools.
• Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and pricing proposals during reviews.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop project plans and schedules.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary information.

Who You Are:

You have proven experience in a similar estimating role, with strong skills in cost modelling and analysis. An expert in Excel, you combine technical proficiency with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to enable accurate decision-making.

Key Requirements:

• Experience in Transport, Utilities, Telecoms, Construction, or similar industries, providing estimating services in large projects or multiple workstreams.
• Expertise in Excel.
• Strong mathematical abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills suitable for office, site, and client/sub-contractor environments.
