Estimating Manager Warwick, Warwickshire, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Reporting to the Director of Rail, the Estimating Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and competitive cost estimates for new projects and schemes in the designated business sector. You will collaborate closely with project management and engineering teams to ensure all aspects of the project are considered and accurately costed.

This is a hybrid role, requiring occasional presence at our Warwick Head office.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the production and submission of accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely manner
  • Control and manage the estimating process at bid, project, or scheme level
  • Challenge cost estimates produced by SMEs in Delivery and Engineering
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates
  • Minimize selling costs and response times using standard processes and pricing tools
  • Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and proposals at cost reviews
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop project plans and schedules
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, etc., to gather necessary information

Who you are:

You will have proven experience in a similar estimating role, with strong skills in cost modelling and analysis. As an expert in Excel, you’ll combine technical proficiency with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to drive accurate decision-making.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in Transport / Utilities / Telecoms / Construction industries, providing estimating services in large projects or multiple workstreams
  • Expertise in Excel
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in office, site, and client/sub-contractor environments
  • Full clean driving license with flexibility to be in HQ as required
