Estimating Manager Warwick, Warwickshire, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Reporting to the Director of Rail, the Estimating Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and competitive cost estimates for new projects and schemes within the designated business sector. You will collaborate closely with project management and engineering teams to ensure all aspects of the project are considered and accurately costed.

This is a hybrid role, with a requirement to be in our Warwick Head Office occasionally.

What you’ll do:

• Support the production and submission of accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely manner.
• Control and manage the estimating process at bid, project, or scheme level.
• Challenge cost estimates produced by SMEs in Delivery and Engineering.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Minimize selling costs and response times through standard processes and pricing tools where appropriate.
• Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and pricing proposals at cost reviews.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop comprehensive project plans and schedules.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, etc., to gather necessary information.

Who you are:

You will have proven experience in a similar estimating role, with a strong foundation in cost modelling and analysis. As an expert Excel user, you’ll combine technical proficiency with exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills to drive accurate and informed decision-making.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in Transport, Utilities, Telecoms, Construction, or similar industries, providing estimating services in large projects or multiple workstreams.
• Expertise in Excel.
• Excellent mathematical ability.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills suitable for office, site, and client/sub-contractor environments.
• Full clean driving license with flexibility to be at HQ as required.
