Estimating Manager Warwick, Warwickshire, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Reporting to the Director of Rail, the Estimating Manager will ensure accurate and competitive cost estimates for new projects and schemes in the designated business sector. You will collaborate with project management and engineering teams to ensure all aspects of the project are considered and accurately costed.

This is a hybrid role, requiring occasional presence at our Warwick Head office.

What you’ll do:

1. Support the production and submission of accurate estimates for projects in a timely manner.
2. Manage the estimating process at bid, project, or scheme level.
3. Challenge cost estimates produced by SMEs in Delivery and Engineering.
4. Review project specifications, drawings, and documentation for detailed cost estimates.
5. Maximize use of standard processes and pricing tools to minimize selling costs and response time.
6. Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and proposals.
7. Collaborate on project plans and schedules with project managers and engineers.
8. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather information.

Who you are:

You will have proven experience in a similar estimating role, with strong cost modeling and analysis skills. As an expert in Excel, you’ll combine technical proficiency with stakeholder management and communication skills to facilitate informed decision-making.

Key Requirements:

1. Experience in Transport, Utilities, Telecoms, Construction, or similar industries, providing estimating services in large projects or multiple workstreams.
2. Expertise in Excel.
3. Strong mathematical skills.
4. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in office, site, and client/sub-contractor environments.
5. Full clean driving license with flexibility to be at HQ as needed.
