Estimating Manager Warwick, Warwickshire, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Reporting to the Director of Rail, the Estimating Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and competitive cost estimates for new projects and schemes in the designated business sector. You will collaborate closely with project management and engineering teams to ensure all aspects of the project are considered and costed accurately.

This is a hybrid role, with occasional requirements to be in our Warwick Head office.

What you’ll do:

• Support the production and submission of accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely manner
• Manage the estimating process at bid, project, or scheme level
• Challenge cost estimates produced by SMEs in Delivery and Engineering
• Review project specifications, drawings, and documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates
• Minimize selling costs and response times through standard processes and pricing tools
• Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and proposals at cost reviews
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers on project planning and scheduling
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, etc., to gather necessary information

Who you are:

You will have proven experience in a similar estimating role, with a strong background in cost modelling and analysis. As an expert Excel user, you’ll combine technical skills with excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities to enable accurate decision-making.

Key Requirements:

• Experience in Transport / Utilities / Telecoms / Construction industries, providing estimating services in large projects or multiple workstreams
• Expertise in Excel
• Strong mathematical skills
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills across office, site, and client/sub-contractor environments
• Full clean driving license with flexibility to be in HQ as needed
