Job summary

SSE Energy Solutions – Smart Buildings is seeking a Smart Buildings Project Engineer to join our BMS projects team. You will deliver small to medium BMS projects from initial planning through handover, ensuring safety, timeliness and budget adherence.

Based in the North West, the role offers permanent, full-time employment with flexible first options and a comprehensive benefits package. A full driving licence and travel to sites are required.

Qualifications

• Good technical experience in Siemens, Trend, Distech or Tridium BEMS/HVAC Building Controls.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders.
• Strong customer service, with a professional approach.
• Agile working approach with on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of small to medium-sized BMS projects from planning to handover.
• Coordinate activities with clients, subcontractors and internal teams, managing programme and procurement.
• Commission BMS hardware and software, including testing and optimization.
• Identify and resolve technical and project issues while maintaining quality.
• Produce project documentation and handover files.

The role

As part of our growth plans, we are looking for a Smart Buildings Project Engineer to join our BMS projects team. We are looking for exceptional people who can bring big ideas, new skills and innovative thinking to help us build a world that's more sustainable for you, your family and the community you live in.

Our Support business has a fantastic reputation in the industry and has some exciting plans to grow and develop the region further, which you can play a key part in.

You will

• Manage the delivery of small to medium-sized BMS projects from initial planning through to final handover, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and within budget.


• Coordinate project activities with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, managing programme, resources, procurement, and site progress throughout the project lifecycle.


• Carry out the commissioning of BMS hardware and software, including point-to-point testing, functional testing, graphics, and optimisation to ensure systems perform to specification.


• Identify and resolve technical and project-related issues, implementing effective solutions while maintaining quality standards and client satisfaction.


• Produce and maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, commissioning records, as-fitted information, and handover documentation to support successful project completion.

You have

• Good technical experience in Siemens, Trend, Distech or Tridium BEMS/HVAC Building Controls.


• Excellent communication skills with the ability to maintain a collaborative working environment with all stakeholders, including customers and external service providers.


• Sound levels of customer service, with a professional approach and a dedication to meeting customer expectations, including delivering technical support, coaching and direction.


• An agile working approach, with flexibility to support an on-call rota structure.


• A full driving licence, as you will be travelling to different sites.
