Job summary

SSE Smart Buildings is seeking a Smart Buildings Support Engineer to join our BMS Support team across field sites in Oxford and surrounding areas. You will carry out pre planned maintenance, minor upgrades and energy reduction initiatives while expanding your skills and contributing to a more sustainable future.

This permanent full-time role requires good technical experience with Trend or Tridium BEMS/HVAC, strong communication, customer service and a flexible, on‑call approach.

Qualifications

• Good technical experience with Trend or Tridium BEMS/HVAC Building Controls.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with customers and external service providers.
• Solid customer service mindset with a professional approach and ability to meet expectations, including providing technical support, coaching and guidance.
• Agile working approach with flexibility to support an on‑call rota.
• A full driving licence, as travel to different sites is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out BMS pre planned maintenance, small upgrades and additional works.
• Respond to and resolve reactive breakdowns within core hours and on‑call rotations.
• Identify system improvements such as upgrades and software enhancements to improve energy performance.
• Provide detailed and concise reports based on onsite activities.

You will

• Carry out BMS pre planned maintenance, small upgrades and additional works
• Respond to and resolve reactive breakdowns, both within core business hours and as part of the out of hours standby team.
• Identify system improvements such as upgrades, system enhancements and software improvements to ensure energy performance is being managed efficiently.
• Provide detailed and concise reports based upon your onsite activities.

You have

• Good technical experience, Trend or Tridium BEMS/HVAC Building Controls.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to maintain a collaborative working environment with all stakeholders, including customers and external service providers.
• Sound levels of customer service, with a professional approach and a dedication to meeting customer expectations, including delivering technical support, coaching and direction.
• An agile working approach, with flexibility to support an on‑call rota structure.
• A full driving licence, as you will be travelling to different sites.
