Job summary

SSE plc is seeking a Smart Buildings Support Engineer to join the BMS Support team. This field-based role covers multiple sites including Swindon and surrounding areas, with opportunities for flexible first working patterns and a permanent, full-time arrangement.

You will perform pre-planned maintenance, upgrades, and energy-performance improvements while delivering clear reporting and customer-focused support across sites. A full driving licence is essential for travel between locations.

Qualifications

• Good technical experience with Trend or Tridium BEMS/HVAC Building Controls.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders including customers and external service providers.
• Professional, customer-focused approach with ability to deliver technical support and coaching.
• Agile working approach with flexibility to support an on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Carry out BMS pre-planned maintenance, small upgrades and additional works.
• Respond to and resolve reactive breakdowns, within core hours and on-call rota.
• Identify system improvements such as upgrades, enhancements and software improvements for energy performance.
• Provide detailed and concise reports based on onsite activities.

You will

• Carry out BMS pre planned maintenance, small upgrades and additional works
• Respond to and resolve reactive breakdowns, both within core business hours and as part of the out of hours standby team.
• Identify system improvements such as upgrades, system enhancements and software improvements to ensure energy performance is being managed efficiently.
• Provide detailed and concise reports based upon your onsite activities.

You have

• Good technical experience, Trend or Tridium BEMS/HVAC Building Controls.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to maintain a collaborative working environment with all stakeholders, including customers and external service providers.
• Sound levels of customer service, with a professional approach and a dedication to meeting customer expectations, including delivering technical support, coaching and direction.
• An agile working approach, with flexibility to support an on-call rota structure.
• A full driving licence, as you will be travelling to different sites.
