Job summary

Anglian Water is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Water Recycling Operations team, focusing on delivering sludge-focused improvement projects across our sites. You will identify opportunities, develop practical solutions, and support the implementation with operational teams and partners, enabling better sludge thickening and dewatering performance while promoting environmental excellence.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, strong knowledge of wastewater and sludge treatment, and

Qualifications

Proven knowledge of wastewater systems and processes.
Strong knowledge of sludge treatment processes and lifecycle.
Experience in a regulated operational environment.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements in operations.
Experience with CDM principles.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication.

Responsibilities

Support investigations into underperforming sludge thickening and dewatering assets.
Support improvements in upstream sludge management to optimise downstream dewatering.
Assist the delivery of a portfolio of sludge improvement projects from concept through to implementation and handover.
Support commissioning and operational readiness of new sludge assets and ensure expected performance outcomes.
Monitor project delivery against performance, cost, and timeline targets.
Establish performance monitoring frameworks and KPIs to sustain improvements over the long term.
