Job summary

Anglian Water is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Water Recycling Operations team, delivering sludge-focused improvement projects across our sites. You will work with operational teams and partners to identify opportunities, develop practical solutions, and drive improvements in sludge thickening and dewatering, supporting efficiency, cost reduction, and environmental performance.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of wastewater systems and processes.
Experience working in regulated operational environments.
Experience applying CDM principles in projects.
Excellent communication with technical and operational teams.
Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Support investigations into underperforming sludge thickening and dewatering assets to identify root causes.
Support improvements in upstream sludge management to optimise downstream dewatering performance.
Assist the delivery of a portfolio of sludge improvement projects from concept through to implementation and handover.
Support commissioning and readiness of new sludge assets to ensure expected performance outcomes.
Monitor project delivery against performance, cost and timeline targets.
Establish performance monitoring frameworks and KPIs to sustain improvements over the long term.
