Job summary

A leading construction company in Oxford seeks a Project Engineer (Site Agent) to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, alongside at least 8 years of experience in a civil engineering capacity. Responsibilities include managing a team of engineers, ensuring compliance with project standards, and utilising digital engineering models to produce critical documentation. This role offers an opportunity to work within a well-established company dedicated to delivering high-quality construction projects.

Qualifications

  • Circa 8 years' experience in a Civil Engineering capacity.
  • Experience in construction delivery environment.

Responsibilities

  • Utilise Digital Engineering models for Visual Method Statements.
  • Ensure compliance with LOR Management of Temporary works procedure.
  • Determine appropriate methods of dimensional control.
  • Interrogate and transfer setting‑out data from 3D CAD.
  • Manage a team of Senior Engineers.

Job description

Expanded are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer (Site Agent) to join our team in Oxford.

The Expanded Group provides total capability in the early construction phases of major projects, providing an end-to-end solution or a bespoke choice of services. Backed by a central technical design and engineering resource, we can deliver the full range of piling, precast concrete, post‑tensioning and structures techniques.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Utilise a Digital Engineering model to provide information to create Visual Method Statements and Visual Task sheets, demonstrating confidence in showcasing to other team members.
  • Fully implement and ensure compliance with the LOR Management of Temporary works procedure on projects, and explain these procedures to others.
  • Determine the most appropriate methods of dimensional control, taking advice from specialists where appropriate, and ensure setting‑out data is controlled.
  • Interrogate and transfer setting‑out data from 3D CAD data.
  • Determine requirement for and format of as‑built surveys and reports, defining scope of survey to demonstrate compliance.
  • Produce and/or ensure that ITPs are produced, available and implemented, fully addressing specification and contractual obligations.
  • Ensure that project and company quality procedures are adhered to.
  • Utilise and recommend best engineering methods.
  • Apply design process knowledge.
  • Produce and approve method statements and risk assessments.
  • Work on procurement.
  • Manage a team of Senior Engineers.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, or an industry‑recognised technical or engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, NVQ level 4) plus demonstrable experience in a construction delivery environment.
  • Circa 8 years’ experience in a Civil Engineering capacity.
  • Experience in structures – desired.
