Laing O'Rourke (Expanded) are recruiting a Senior Engineer to join one of our Great Grid projects in High Marnham, Nottinghamsire. The role supports major infrastructure delivery with a focus on civil engineering excellence and robust site deployment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification plus demonstrable construction delivery experience.
• Experience with civil engineering projects and managing engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Utilise Digital Engineering model to create Visual Method Statements and Visual Task sheets.
• Implement and explain temporary works procedures.
• Determine appropriate methods of dimensional control and ensure setting out data is controlled.
• Interrogate and transfer setting out data from 3D CAD data.
• Define scope of as-built surveys and reports to demonstrate compliance.
• Produce or ensure ITPs address specification and contractual obligations.
• Ensure adherence to project and company quality procedures.
• Assist with procurement and provide design process knowledge.
• Produce and approve method statements and risk assessments.
• Manage a team of Senior Engineers (project dependant).

Laing O'Rourke (Expanded) are currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer to join one ofour Great Grid projects in High Marnham (Nottinghamshire)

The Great Grid Upgrade, is building the significant new electricity network infrastructure required to reduce the UK's reliance on fossil fuels by connecting 50GW of offshore wind by 2030. As part of this partnership, we have a requirement on one of the substation projects in High Marnham.

The Expanded Group provides total capability in the early construction phases of major projects, providing an end-to-end solution or a bespoke choice of services. Backed by a central technical design and engineering resource, we can deliver the full range of piling, precast concrete, post-tensioning and structures techniques.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Able to utilise a Digital Engineering model to provide information to create Visual Method Statements and Visual Task sheets. Confidence to show other team members.
• Fully implements and ensures compliance with the LOR Management of Temporary works procedure on projects. Explains these procedures to others.
• Determine the most appropriate methods of dimensional control taking advice from specialists where appropriate. Ensure setting out data is controlled.
• Can interrogate and transfer setting out data from 3D CAD data.
• Determine requirement for and format of as-built surveys and reports. Defines scope of survey to demonstrate compliance.
• Produces and/ or ensures that ITP's are produced, available and implemented. Ensures that they fully address specification and contractual obligations.
• Ensures that project and company quality procedures are adhered
• Utilise and recommend best engineering methods

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering , or an industry recognised technical or engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, NVQ level 4) plus demonstrable experience in a construction delivery environment.
• Circa 8 years' experience in a Civil Engineering capacity
