Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our growing team in Birmingham. The role involves hands-on management of mechanical engineering projects from enquiry through to completion, coordinating with customers, suppliers and workshop teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in mechanical/project engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in mechanical engineering and project engineering.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Strong organisation and multi-project management.
• Full UK driving licence and travel to sites.
• Experience with rotating equipment beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from enquiry through to delivery.
• Attend customer sites for requirements and surveys.
• Produce project scopes and technical reports.
• Prepare quotations and support commercial activities.
• Coordinate manufacturing and subcontracted work.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Monitor progress against cost and delivery targets.
• Prepare RAMS and site documentation.
