Job summary

At Balfour Beatty, a leading UK infrastructure contractor, a Project Engineer (Cabling) is sought to support the BTNO project in Assington, Suffolk. You’ll help plan, design and deliver cabling works, coordinate site activities and ensure safety, quality and budget targets are met.

You will work with the Project Manager and team to formalise engineered solutions, review drawings, manage RAMS and ensure progress reporting to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience working as a Project Engineer within power, utilities, construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience delivering cabling, civils or electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of safe systems of work and site-based project delivery.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and coordinate project resources effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • A formal engineering or construction qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
  • CSCS and SMSTS (or equivalent) preferred.
  • APM qualifications or a desire to work towards them would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the delivery of HV cabling works across the BTNO project.

  • Maintaining accurate project records and reporting progress to stakeholders.
  • Promoting a culture of Zero Harm and ensuring compliance with all health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Supporting commissioning, handover and project close-out activities.

About the role

At Balfour Beatty, we're delivering critical infrastructure that powers communities across the UK. Due to continued growth and project demand, we are seeking a Project Engineer (Cabling) to join our Power Transmission & Distribution team and support the successful delivery of our BTNO Project in Assington, Suffolk.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who is passionate about delivering complex cabling and power infrastructure projects safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

What you'll be doing

As a Project Engineer, you will work alongside the Project Manager and wider project team to support the successful planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover of cabling works. You will be responsible for formalising engineered solutions, coordinating site activities and ensuring work is delivered safely, on programme and within budget.

Key responsibilities will include:

Who we're looking for

We are looking for candidates with:
