Job summary

Our client in Bedfordshire is seeking a Project Engineer to join their established Projects Team. The role is primarily office-based with regular customer site visits, occasional overnight UK travel and overseas travel where required.

You will own projects from order through installation and handover, define scope with customers and Sales, serve as the main contact, maintain schedules and documentation (BOMs, P&IDs, layouts), source components, coordinate installation and ensure invoicing

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar Project Engineering role within a process engineering environment.
  • Proven track record delivering engineering projects.
  • Experience using MS Project.
  • Experience using AutoCAD LT.
  • Strong engineering knowledge and ability to manage technical requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic and practical 'can-do' attitude.
  • Good commercial awareness and strong organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Knowledge of steam systems, pneumatics, hydraulics and pipework.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of projects from order through to installation and handover.
  • Develop and agree project scope with customers and the Sales Team.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create, manage and maintain project schedules, including Gantt charts.
  • Produce and maintain project documentation (project numbers, Scope of Supply, timing plans, P&IDs, BOMs, layout drawings).
  • Specify and source purchased components and equipment.
  • Manage project changes and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate equipment delivery and installation.
  • Organise and support FAT/PDI and Site Acceptance Testing.
  • Manage packing and shipping, including export documentation where required.
  • Develop installation plans and RAMS documentation.
  • Coordinate customer training and documentation handover.
  • Manage subcontractors during installation where required.
  • Maintain commercial awareness to ensure invoicing milestones are met.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure successful delivery.

Hours: Monday to Friday

Commute: This candidate must hold a Full UK driving linseces with access to their ownvehicle.


Our client is looking for aProject Engineer to join their established Projects Team.


This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong technical knowledge and a proven track record of successfully delivering engineering projects from initial order through to installation and final handover.The role is primarily office-based, with regular customer site visits. The position will involve occasional overnight UK travel, as well as overseas travel where required. You may also be responsible for overseeing equipment installations and managing subcontractors on customer sites, both in the UK and internationally.


Main Responsibilities


  • Take ownership of projects from order through to successful installation and handover.

  • Develop and agree project scope with customers and the Sales Team.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Create, manage and maintain project schedules, including Gantt charts.

  • Produce and maintain project documentation, including project numbers, Scope of Supply, timing plans, P&IDs, BOMs and provisional layout drawings.

  • Specify and source purchased components and equipment.

  • Manage project changes and communicate these effectively with relevant stakeholders.

  • Coordinate equipment delivery and installation.

  • Organise and support Customer Acceptance Testing (FAT/PDI).

  • Manage packing and shipping arrangements, including export documentation where required.

  • Develop installation plans and coordinate installation resources and RAMS documentation.

  • Oversee Site Acceptance Testing.

  • Coordinate customer training and documentation handover.

  • Manage subcontractors during installation where required.

  • Maintain strong commercial awareness throughout each project, ensuring invoicing milestones are achieved on time.

  • Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure projects are delivered successfully.


About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:



  • Previous experience in a similar Project Engineering role within a process engineering environment.

  • A proven track record of successfully delivering engineering projects.

  • Experience using MS Project.

  • Experience using AutoCAD LT.

  • Strong engineering knowledge and the ability to understand and manage technical requirements.

  • A basic understanding of electrical control systems would be advantageous.

  • A full UK Driving Licence.
