Job summary

PHD is seeking a Project Engineer to support delivery of complex reinforced concrete structures on HS2, including shafts, stations, bridges, and tunnel access structures. You will work with site and project management to interpret drawings, plan setting-out, pours, reinforcement, and formwork while ensuring compliance with design specs.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree or HNC, proven RC frame experience, knowledge of temporary works, and HS2 or rail project exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven RC frame or structural concrete delivery experience.
• Knowledge of temporary works, formwork and reinforcement detailing.
• Experience on large infrastructure or rail projects (HS2 experience a plus).
• CSCS card and safety qualifications (SMSTS/SSSTS preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support site and project management teams in planning and execution of RC frame packages.
• Interpret technical drawings and ensure construction aligns with design specs and tolerances.
• Oversee setting out, concrete pours, reinforcement works and formwork systems.
• Liaise with client engineers, designers and subcontractors to resolve technical queries.
• Ensure works comply with HS2 specifications, safety standards and quality requirements.
• Assist in preparation of method statements, risk assessments and technical documents.
