Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking an experienced Section Engineer with a proven background in structures to join a major HS2 scheme in Buckinghamshire. You will deliver reinforced concrete and structural works on a flagship infrastructure programme.

The role requires strong setting out and surveying skills, the ability to interpret design drawings, and experience with Tier 1 contractors. You will promote high safety and quality standards on site while coordinating subcontractors and reporting progress to

Qualifications

• Experience as Section Engineer on major civil/infrastructure projects.
• Strong structures experience including reinforced concrete, bridges or walls.
• Experience with Tier 1 contractors.
• Excellent setting out and surveying skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of structural and reinforced concrete works.
• Manage and maintain site control.
• Ensure works follow design drawings and specs.
• Produce and review ITPs, quality records and as-built docs.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the delivery of structural and reinforced concrete works.
• Managing and maintaining site control.
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with design drawings and specifications.
• Producing and reviewing ITPs, quality records and as-built documentation.
• Managing subcontractors and coordinating daily site activities.
• Raising and resolving technical queries and NCRs.
• Monitoring progress against programme and reporting to the Site Agent or Sub Agent.
• Promoting the highest standards of health, safety and quality on site.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Section Engineer on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong structures experience, ideally involving reinforced concrete, bridges, retaining walls, culverts or similar assets.
• Experience working for Tier 1 contractors.
• Excellent setting out and surveying skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• CSCS Card.
• HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• SMSTS or SSSTS beneficial.
