Job summary

INFORM3 Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a Main Contractor for a Site Engineer / Project Engineer on a new build residential project in Belfast. The role offers long-term stability and exposure to a major scheme.

The candidate will carry out setting out, surveying and levelling, coordinate with subcontractors, supervise trades and ensure safety and quality on site. A Civil Engineering degree and 3+ years with a main contractor are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Min 3 years' experience with a Main Contractor.
• Strong setting out, surveying and levelling skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out, surveying and levelling duties across the project.
• Perform quality checks to ensure works meet drawings and specs.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and site personnel for daily works.
• Supervise trades on site and liaise with project team, architect and client.
• Maintain health and safety procedures and site standards.
• Assist with project delivery alongside the Project Manager and Senior Engineer.
• Support temporary works coordination and technical queries.
• Build strong working relationships with the construction team.

About the Company INFORM3 Recruitment are working with an established Tier 2 Main Contractor who are currently delivering a number of exciting projects across Belfast and the surrounding area. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced Site Engineer / Project Engineer to their team for a major new-build residential development in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineer looking for long-term stability, exposure to a substantial project and the opportunity to progress within a well-established contractor. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior management team and will have the opportunity to shadow the company owner, gaining valuable exposure to the wider delivery and management of the project. The company is keen to speak with Engineers who have 3+ years experience working with a Main Contractor and are looking to take the next step in their career.

The Role

• Carry out setting out, surveying and levelling duties across the project.
• Perform quality checks to ensure all works are completed in line with drawings, specifications and required standards.
• Liaise with subcontractors and site personnel to coordinate and plan daily works.
• Supervise trades and subcontractors on site, acting as a key point of contact for the project team, architects and client.
• Ensure all Health & Safety procedures and site standards are maintained.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and Senior Engineer to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard.
• Assist with temporary works coordination and technical queries as required.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with the construction management team, subcontractors and site personnel.
• Work closely with the company owner, assisting with day-to-day project delivery and gaining exposure to the wider management of the scheme.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management & Engineering or another relevant discipline.
• Minimum 3 years experience with a Main Contractor.
• Strong setting out experience with the ability to confidently use relevant surveying equipment.
• Competent across setting out, surveying, levelling and temporary works coordination.
• Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a busy site team.
