Job summary

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree, has 3+ years with a main contractor, and demonstrates strong management, communication, and commercial awareness. Full driving licence required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
• 3+ years' experience with main contractor
• Previous experience as a Senior Engineer or Project Manager
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
• Strong commercial awareness and programme management experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
• Full driving licence
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver projects to demanding programmes

Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of engineering projects from planning through to completion
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements
• Oversee engineering activities, technical compliance, and quality assurance
• Manage project resources, procurement, and programme updates
• Monitor project costs and support commercial reporting and valuations
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, design teams, and key stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards
• Identify project risks and implement effective solutions
• Mentor and support junior engineers and site management teams

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineering professional to join a growing contractor working on high-profile projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Senior Engineer or Project Manager Responsibilities
