Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Project Engineer for the Power Transmission & Distribution division on the New Deer project based in Aberdeen. You will lead a multi‑disciplined team, manage safety and quality, and drive delivery to time and budget across complex power infrastructure work.

You’ll support underground cable projects, coordinate subcontractors, and apply project management best practices to ensure successful outcomes for our ambitious portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering underground cable projects.
  • Experience supporting large infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of project management methodology.
  • Commercial awareness with budgetary/financial control.
  • Excellent relationship management skills.
  • Having a Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engineered solutions to working party.
  • Safely and sustainably deliver activity to programme, cost and quality.
  • Monitor and record works to ensure compliance in a timely manner.
  • Manage, monitor and motivate a multi‑skilled team of engineers, subcontractors and other construction experts.
  • Set performance targets and ensure high standards of safety and quality.
  • Be involved in procurement of subcontractors.
  • Support and develop an environment where the working party can thrive.
  • Progress smaller projects or sections of larger projects.
  • Develop and communicate project progress to stakeholders.
  • Take responsibility for delivering to programme milestones.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and close coordination with stakeholders.

Working Hours : 45 per week

Who we’re looking for

You will have the following:

  • Ideally have experience and tracker record in delivering underground cable projects
  • Experience of supporting large infrastructure projects within our Industry.
  • Knowledge and experience of Project Management methodology.
  • Strong People Management Commercial awareness with knowledge of both budgetary and financial control.
  • Excellent relationship management skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
