Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an EHS Specialist to advise project management teams and other stakeholders on Environmental, Health and Safety matters, ensuring compliance with legislation and supporting the EHS management system across projects within their regional remit.

You will act as SME for risk assessments, audits, incident investigations, training and EHS data reporting, collaborating with clients, managers and contractors to drive continuous improvement and a positive EHS culture on site.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Environmental, Health and Safety management.
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• 3–5 years minimum EHS experience on large and complex projects.
• Experience implementing EHS Management Systems and supporting procedures.
• Self-starter with ability to prioritise and work with agility; full driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME to project management teams and develop formal project plans to drive continuous improvement.
• Meet regularly and present EHS data to clients and project leaders.
• Assess and control risks on projects, identify gaps and provide solutions for compliance.
• Create and maintain relationships with clients, project managers, supervisors, employee reps, contractors and stakeholders.
• Promote a positive EHS culture on projects and monitor compliance with legal standards.
• Lead audit activities and help resolve audit findings with effective actions.
• Manage and maintain environmental aspects and their impacts via a compliance calendar.
