Job summary

Essential Employment seeks a Project Development Officer to lead the early development and planning of major property and capital projects. You’ll drive project initiation, governance, stakeholder engagement, risk management and resource planning to ensure projects are set up for success from day one.

Working closely with internal teams, contractors and senior stakeholders, you’ll coordinate project activities, manage risks and support the delivery of construction and estates-related programmes.

Project Development Officer

Are you an experienced project professional with a passion for delivering complex projects and driving positive change?

We are seeking a Project Development Officer to lead the early development and planning of major property and capital projects. You’ll be responsible for project initiation, governance, stakeholder engagement, risk management, resource planning and project delivery support, ensuring projects are set up for success from day one.

Working closely with internal teams, contractors and senior stakeholders, you’ll coordinate project activities, manage risks and support the delivery of construction and estates-related programmes. You’ll also provide mentoring and guidance to Project Officers, helping to develop best practice across the team.

Key Requirements:

• Experience managing projects from initiation through to completion
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Knowledge of project governance, risk management and project methodologies (PRINCE2 desirable)
• Experience within property, construction, estates or capital projects
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and build effective working relationships
• Relevant project management qualification or equivalent experience
