Job summary

HRGO Recruitment is seeking a proactive Project Officer in Shepton Mallet to help deliver local community projects from initial ideas through to delivery and evaluation.

The role involves working with councillors, staff and external partners, developing plans, budgets and KPIs, and coordinating funding opportunities to create lasting positive impact for the community.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education or equivalent.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage your own workload and prioritise competing tasks.
• Confident working with different people and building positive relationships.
• Previous experience in project coordination, administration or a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project plans, including budgets, timelines, risks and KPIs.
• Undertake research and community consultation to identify local needs.
• Work collaboratively with councillors, community groups, volunteers and external partners.
• Monitor project progress and provide clear reports and updates.
• Support funding applications by gathering research and evidence.
• Identify funding opportunities with the Community Fundraiser.
• Coordinate external expertise, contractors and professional advisers where required.
• Ensure projects are effectively communicated and supported by appropriate marketing.
• Incorporate environmental and sustainability considerations into project delivery.
• Attend occasional evening meetings and support the wider team when required.

This is a varied role that will see you manage projects from initial ideas and consultation through to delivery and evaluation, working closely with councillors, staff, community groups and external stakeholders.
