Job summary

Join Trant Engineering Ltd as a Project Design Manager to lead multi-discipline design teams in water, wastewater, and energy projects. You will coordinate design resources, manage interfaces with external designers and suppliers, and drive design reviews to ensure safety and quality across £1M–£10M projects.

Based at Head Office in Southampton with hybrid working. The role emphasises collaboration with IDS, planning and delivery teams, and a strong focus on BIM/Digital Delivery, value

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and CAD technicians.
• Capable of managing and prioritising multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Confident in presenting and explaining ideas and solutions with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Awareness of commercial factors applicable to tendering and design delivery.
• Keen eye for detail to identify technical issues early in the lifecycle.
• Good working knowledge of BIM/Digital Delivery processes.
• Competent user of the Microsoft Office suite of products.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design resources to deliver design deliverables against budget and schedule.
• Ensure design/safety reviews are conducted at appropriate stages and comply with standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with Client Project Teams.
• Manage design interfaces with third party designers, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Regularly review design delivery strategies with Discipline Leads.
• Identify and escalate design changes per Trant procedures.
• Promote H&S focus throughout design and delivery phases.
• Seek continuous improvement of design delivery processes and quality systems.
