Job summary

Unipart is seeking a Project Delivery Manager for a six-month fixed term contract at their Broughton, Chester facility. The role focuses on driving logistics initiatives from concept to delivery, managing client changes and internal supply chain improvements, and hands-on shop floor involvement.

You will report to the General Manager and lead cross-functional teams to ensure on-time, cost-effective project delivery while maintaining aerospace risk controls and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Define project boundaries, material handling requirements, and initial budgets.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to build timelines and delivery schedules.
  • Be an active ‘change agent’ - leading execution phases directly from the warehouse floor.
  • Conduct reviews, track compliance, and ensure smooth handover to BAU.
  • Spend significant time on-site to understand live production and logistics challenges, solving bottlenecks and mitigating aerospace risk.
  • Compile and maintain master project plans, delivering tailored status reports at each phase.
  • Partner with the Commercial Manager to evaluate client Change Requests.
  • Validate operational cost models and tactical timing plans; provide data for quotes.

About the Role

As our Project Delivery Manager you will drive logistics initiatives from initial concept through to final delivery and review within our aircraft wing manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will lead both client-suggested modifications and internal supply chain improvements. This is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground role requiring you to be fully immersed in shop-floor logistics operations to understand live constraints, manage strict aerospace risk profiles, and ensure seamless delivery. Initially a six month fixed term contract.

As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:

Define project boundaries, material handling requirements, and initial budgets

Collaborate with operational teams to build comprehensive, realistic timelines and delivery schedules

Be an active ‘change agent’ - leading execution phases directly from the warehouse floor

Conduct reviews, track compliance, and ensure smooth handover to BAU

Spend significant time on-site to understand live production and logistics challenges, solving supply chain bottlenecks on the ground alongside operational personnel, and proactively identify, track, and mitigate strict aerospace risk profiles

Compile and maintain master project plans, delivering tailored status reports at every project phase, presenting clear updates to internal leaders and external clients

Partner with the Commercial Manager to evaluate client Change Requests

Validate operational cost models and tactical timing plans

Provide accurate data to inform formal commercial quotes issued to clients

About You

Sound financial acumen

Enjoy working in a team but will be self-motivated and equally comfortable managing your own team, time, and workload

Experience of Project Managing large and complex projects with multiple workstreams based in various locations around the UK and an understanding of the complexities that this brings
