Job summary

Unipart in Oxford is seeking a senior logistics leader to drive a seven-year operation at the Oxford plant. You will oversee large-scale warehousing, inventory management, and physical logistics activities, ensuring contract commitments and delivering high performance and continuous improvement.

The role focuses on compliance with HSE, Quality, and Sustainability, with responsibility for cost-down initiatives, workforce planning, and long-term customer partnerships within a dynamic manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Strong operational logistics background, leading at a senior level ideally within a manufacturing / automotive environment.
  • Proven ability to successfully implement complex operational change projects in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Able to develop productive relationships with customers and key stakeholders at a strategic level.
  • Significant experience in managing P&L accounts, setting budgets etc in a closed book commercial agreement.
  • Proven ability to work constructively with Trade Unions in a large direct headcount operation (+250 FTE).

  • Lead compliance for Health, Safety, Environment, Sustainability, and Quality standards, acting as the site responsible person for all protocols.
  • Define and deploy operational and commercial objectives that drive business plan growth and deliver on contract cost-down commitments.
  • Monitor and maximise operational efficiency and profitability by managing cost levers, analysing data, and using Unipart Way tools.
  • Effectively manage resources, including workforce planning, direct resourcing, agency provision, and talent development.
  • Lead the customer engagement agenda to build robust relationships and facilitate long-term partnership growth.
  • Foster the Unipart Way culture by sharing best practices, coaching colleagues, and driving innovation and digital agendas within the warehouse.

About the Role

You will lead our new seven-year operation based at our Oxford plant, ensuring the successful delivery of logistics services. You will be the site lead, accountable for managing large-scale warehousing and physical logistics activities, including receiving, storing, inventory management, picking, sequencing, and delivery. You will ensure the successful delivery of contractual service levels and cost commitments while fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
