Position Overview

We are looking for a Project Controls Engineer to join our successful team based in Leeds, supporting clients in the North Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Controls and Assurance team on complex, multi-faceted projects.
  • Interface with programme managers, project managers, Quantity Surveyors, risk consultants, and planners to deliver professional advice and meet reporting deadlines.
  • Ensure data alignment between cost and other disciplines within project controls.
  • Align actual costs with financial actuals.
  • Review payment applications from contractors and suppliers against project progress.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining project controls processes for cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Facilitate trend and change processes, including producing change reports, analyzing cost impacts, and identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Assure client’s cost data, including estimates, cost to complete, actual costs, and contractor forecasts.
  • Produce monthly reports, resource updates, and forecasts using software like Power BI, Tableau, etc.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A recognized diploma or degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Membership or progress towards membership of RICS, APM, ACostE, or similar.
  • Experience in planning and scheduling using Primavera.
  • Knowledge of project controls methodologies and techniques.
  • Understanding of earned value analysis and tools like Prism, Cobra, etc.
  • Ability to reconcile cost information from systems like SAP, Oracle, etc.
  • Experience in Energy, Infrastructure, or Industrial sectors.
  • Experience with contracts such as NEC3/4, IChemE, FIDIC.
  • Effective client communication skills and project advisory experience.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation.
