Controls Engineer Siemens TIA Portal Remote - Permanent - GBP55-60k + Overtime = GBP60-70k total earnings

Role Overview

This is a remote Controls Engineer position within a growing industry, where the company is a Siemens partner and specialist. The role offers the opportunity to define code structures and influence technological development within the department.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead software activities for material handling and conveyor projects.
  2. Potential to progress to a Lead Engineer role.
  3. Conduct site-based commissioning with a 50/50 split between home and customer sites, primarily in the UK, with some international travel (typically 2-3 weeks per visit).
  4. Contribute to advancing the company's systems and technology capabilities.
  5. Develop and review project Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
  6. Design system architectures and software components using Siemens TIA Portal.
  7. Utilize SCL (Structured Control Language) for data management and control loops.
  8. Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and software validation.
  9. Oversee system integration, upgrades, and commissioning processes.
  10. Experience with IP-based architectures, ProfiNet, ProfiBus, ASi, and other industrial networks.
  11. Understand design, build, and project delivery methodologies.
  12. Experience with high-level programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, PHP, Java) is advantageous or a willingness to learn.
  13. Work hours are typically 8:15-5:00 PM Monday-Thursday and 8:15-2:00 PM on Fridays, with an option for 8:15-4:30 PM, Monday-Friday.
  14. Overtime is paid at x1.25 for hours over 40/week Monday-Friday, and x1.5 for weekend hours. Projected annual overtime earnings are GBP5-10k.
  15. Applicants must be based in the UK and able to travel internationally without restrictions.
